Topic -  The Meaning of Patriotism: Personal and Public

What does patriotism look like when you’re leading a community?

For some, it’s about tradition. For others, it’s about progress. But at its heart, patriotism reflects a personal commitment, and a public responsibility, to the place and people we serve.

As civic leaders, how do we express love of country in ways that unite rather than divide? How do we lead communities where views of patriotism differ sharply? And how do we model civic pride that includes everyone, not just those who see things our way?

This isn’t a conversation about flags and fireworks. It’s about the deeper meaning of belonging, identity, and civic responsibility.

Join fellow elected officials for an honest, respectful conversation about the role of patriotism in public life—and how your leadership can help define it for your community.

Hosted by Matt Lehrman of Social Prosperity Partners, this lightly moderated Zoom-based conversation offers friendly, supportive conversation without presentations.
